New reality TV show shot in Houston
Camera crews got an inside look at flight teams who save lives every day

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A new reality show all shot right here in Houston is tentatively called Life Flight. Life Flight takes off from five locations in the city with 74 crew members.

Pilot Bobby Wisdom and Flight Nurse Clint Kneuven took us up in Life Flight for an inside glimpse into their world. The pair sees the best sweeping views of Houston lifting off from Memorial Hermann Hospital at The Medical Center.

Clint Kneuven shared his hopes for the new show that will air on TNT, "I don't think people have any idea about what we really do. Hopefully, they get a peek into our world."

Pilot Bobby Wisdom says he is at his dream job, "I wanted to fly from the time I was five years old."

By now, the pair is used to the camera. For two months, Hollywood film crews followed Life Flight teams for a new reality show. Wisdom says, "One thing I had to get used to was being miked all the time. You have to watch what we say, remember to turn it off."

The reality, flight teams can't turn away, the lives they are saving after tragedies like major car crashes. During 12 hour shifts, they don't stop. One July 4th, Life Flight responded to 24 emergencies. Extra blood supply and even an ultrasound to check for internal bleeding is on board.

Wisdom described what he experience on the job, "You see people at their worst. How do you deal with that when you get home at night? First thing you try to do is hug the family members when you get home. It's a little hard."

Kneuven adds, "You learn to not sweat the small stuff in real life. Life is precious and in one minute things can change."

Reality cameras captured everything from liftoff, working with police officers and firefighters on the ground to bringing a patient inside to medical teams.

The new show does not have an exact air date just yet. We hear it will air this fall. With that, Wisdom answered this question, "What do you think about possibly being stars and getting recognized in the grocery store? I'm not much for the star thing. I'd rather they didn't know."
