Free Beyonce dance classes offered in Montrose

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- He's got the dance moves. But for DePaul Norwood, it's all about the attitude.

"At first, I was proving something to them," he said. "Now I'm proving something to myself that I can go further."

Norwood has been teaching free Beyonce dance classes in Montrose for the past two years. Norwood became a fan about 10 years ago, when he was bullied in school.

"I would watch Beyonce videos over and over," he said. "It was 2003 and she was coming out of nowhere."

He says those videos gave him comfort and confidence.

"The best way to be is to defeat people who thought they were going to defeat you," he said.

If you're interested in attending, classes are every Thursday from 6:308pm at the M Society.
