HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Beyonc was in town Friday night, performing at Minute Maid to a sold-out crowd. And if you think you've got similar talent but just don't have the connections, here's your chance. Her father and former manager, Mathew Knowles, says he'll share his secrets by putting you on a superstar boot camp. It could be your chance to break into the industry.

He launched Beyonce's career into stardom, and now he says he can help you. Whether you're a vocalist, producer, even a makeup artist, Mathew Knowles wants to teach the ins and outs of the entertainment industry.

Percussionist Alexander Erhardt recently graduated from the Houston Community College Audio Recording program and is excited about the boot camp.

"We're all here for the same reason. We all love audio or music and we want to break into that field. And who better to do it than someone who fathered someone who came out of Houston and is a Grammy-selling artist," Erhardt said.

"This is a hard business. Only a small percentage really, really make it to the top," said Debra McGaughey with HCC.

McGaughey says the boot camp will take place on September 13. Students will hear from Mr. Knowles first hand and he discusses what it takes to make it to the top.

"He's going to give you the background on what it takes to get in. How to form a team. How to get signed by a major recording label. How to get an agent. How to do the right things so you don't waste your time and money hunting all around for stuff that really won't pan out," McGaughey said.

McGaughey says Knowles is also paying it forward because of his ties to HCC.

"He took music classes at HCC. He took business classes. Because he wanted industry knowledge before he stepped into the business. So he's an HCC product. And we're glad to have him back," McGaughey said.

"Since he's from Houston and he's dealing with a community college, it makes it more intimate so you get the best of both worlds," Erhardt said.

If you're interested in the boot camp, it's limited to only 300 seats and costs roughly $300 per ticket or visit HCC's website.
