Amber Alert canceled for two Houston children
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An Amber Alert has been canceled for two Houston children who went missing last night. Houston police says both kids were dropped off a family members house in northwest Houston about 9:20am this morning. Arrangements are now being made to reunite them with their mother.
According to Houston police, Jayden A. Lopez, 2, and Alice Salazar-Recendez, 4, were taken by their mother's ex-boyfriend, Roy Castillo. Police say Castillo forced his way into the children's mother's home. The mother and two children got into Castillo's car and headed to the grocery store.
When they arrived at the Sellers Brothers grocery store in the 9400 block of Hammerly in northwest Houston, Castillo and the mother began arguing. The mother got out and tried to grab the 4-year-old girl, but Castillo took off.
The mother tried to hang on to the car door and was dragged an unknown distance before letting go.
Castillo has not been captured. He is believed to be driving a 2003 black Nissan Altima with Texas license plate DWR5899.
