Former Eyewitness News reporter Thom Dickerson passes away

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- We have some sad news to report about a former longtime colleague. Former Eyewitness News reporter Thom Dickerson has died.

Thom spent about 25 years at ABC-13. Viewers may remember him from his 13 Outdoors reports. Thom brought us entertaining and informative stories about hunting and fishing all over Texas. ABC-13 photographer Mike Menchaca often worked with Thom.

"If the viewers can't have the time to go out (to the water or the woods) then he was hoping just to take them there, give them the chance to experience the hunt or a fishing trip," said Mike.

A service to remember and honor his life will be next Saturday, October 11, at 2pm at Carl Barnes funeral home in the Heights. Thom Dickerson was 65 years old.
