Houston fashion fans meet style icon Sarah Jessica Parker

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Hundreds of women waited for hours for their chance to meet Sarah Jessica Parker.

She was at the Nordstrom Galleria doing a meet and greet to promote her shoe line, SJP collection. For Parker, meeting her fan and customer base is hugely important.

"When I travel, it's a way for me to convey my gratitude," Parker said. "To look someone in the eye, listen to their story, share a moment, hear what they want to tell me, what they've wanted to tell me a long time. And it's an experience you can't have any other way."

Parker partnered with San Antonio native and president of Manolo Blahnik, George Malkemus, on the SJP collection. Parker's role as Carrie Bradshaw on "Sex and the City" helped make the Manolo Blahnik shoe famous, which made partnering with Malkemus a shoo-in for her business.
