Harry Potter Misprint
If you own a first edition of "Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone," you could be in for a lot of money - if you've got one of the first 500 copies

It's time to check your bookcase because if you own a first edition of "Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone" -- it might be worth thousands of dollars.

If you've got one of the first 500 copies, a typo appears in first editions of "Philosopher's Stone" in which "1 wand" is repeated twice in Harry's list of Hogwarts school supplies. The error appears in a section called "Other Equipment."

One book that includes the misprint is even expected to bring in more than $33,000 when it is sold at London's Bonhams Fine Books and Manuscripts in November.

"As the first book in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone has a special place in the affections of the millions of readers across the world and the proof reading error about the wand in the first edition has, of course, become a treasured piece of Harry Potter arcana," Matthew Haley, the Head of Books and Manuscripts at Bonhams, told the Independent.

Even if your book doesn't contain the typo, there are a number of other Harry Potter books that could be worth some money as well. Here's how to figure out if your book is worth any money.
