HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Calf Scramble at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is all about students competing against each other for a chance to win a heifer or a steer to take home. But at Friday night's competition, we saw a different side of the challenge.
While some students managed to catch a calf and drag it to the center of the stadium at NRG Park, others needed a helping hand -- and they got it from their competitors.
In at least two instances, a group of students gathered to help a fellow competitor get a calf to cross the white line. They even helped push one calf that stubbornly stalled just short of the winning square.
