110-carat diamond going on auction in December
SUPER STONE: The 110-carat diamond is the largest round diamond to ever hit Sotheby's auction.

LOS ANGELES, California -- If you're looking for a hot piece of jewelry for Christmas, check this out.

Sotheby's is offering a 110-carat diamond at its auction house.

They say it is the largest round diamond ever to be presented at auction, and is expected to sell for $4 million to $6 million.

The diamond is going to be up for bid in New York next month.

"It's not everyday you see a 100-carat diamond"

Quig Bruning says this is one incredible diamond.

Quig Bruning, jewelry specialist for Sotheby's, says this diamond truly is a one-of-a-kind rock.

"It's not every day you see a hundred carat diamond. I mean, the reality is that the vast majority of diamonds ever mined are under one carat, and so, you can sort of count on two hands the number of hundred-carat diamonds that have ever been sold at auction, and this is the single largest round one that's ever been offered," Bruning said.

Bruning said if the diamond isn't in your price range, Sotheby's has jewelry at auction beginning at prices as low as $5,000, too.
