Studies allegedly show proximity between schools and human trafficking
Parents, a new report showing hidden dangers near schools will be released today.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A child advocacy group today released a new tool to help parents protect their kids from illicit massage parlors in their communities.

The Children At Risk group revealed an interactive map which they claim shows that 16,000 Harris County students go to class within a thousand feet of human trafficking.

The group says it all centers around illegal massage businesses that are fronts for trafficking.

The group hopes the map will lead parents to apply pressure to shut down illegal massage parlors. "We're talking about over 200, close to 300 places. This isn't right for our city, we need public pressure to help law enforcement to give them the resources they need to go after this," said Dr. Robert Sanborn.
