You can do it yourself or hire a pest service, but if you are concerned about bugs, now is the time to take action.

"You take the Apex cockroach bait and you do about 100 little, small BB-sized dots throughout your kitchen. Underneath the cabinet edge. Under the sink around where you are seeing them," said Ronny Wheeler with Solutions Pest and Lawn.
Wheeler says a lot of people are also seeing army cutworms on their plants.
He recommends using a product called Ignite. You just have to dilute it and spray it on your plants.

As for fleas, fire ants, chinch bugs and crickets, spreading Bifen L/P granules now will pay off with a bug free yard for weeks to come.

"You will broadcast it out and wet it in, and this product will last a good five to six months," said Wheeler.
The time to do this is now, before you see the pests return to your yard and house.
A bag of Bifen L/P costs about $31, the Ignite is $44.99 and Apex runs $24.99.
