According to Santa Fe ISD, Frontier Communication was working along Highway 6 when they inadvertently struck a water main that runs down Warpath Avenue.
The turn lanes were affected, closing entry and exit on the highway.
TxDOT said in a tweet that crews are onsite assisting with traffic control as repairs are being made.
Warpath Avenue can be accessed through 6th Street. It is unclear how long drivers can expect delays.
