HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities said one woman was killed and another was injured in a shooting in north Harris County on Sunday morning.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Precinct 4 deputies responded to a call at an apartment complex located at 12655 Kuykendahl Rd. near West Rankin Road at about 5:15 a.m.

When deputies arrived at the complex, they found two women with gunshot wounds, officials said. Both were taken to a nearby hospital, where one was later pronounced dead, according to HCSO. Authorities said the other victim is expected to be OK.

Detectives said that the two women, along with a man, were involved in an altercation at a separate location before driving to the complex in order to get help from friends there. The man was not injured but was still taken to the hospital to be checked out, according to investigators.

Officials said the vehicle the victims drove off in was hit by gunfire and was towed to an HCSO lot to be processed.

Authorities said they are still determining where the shooting took place. Officials also said they have no description of the suspect yet.

HCSO said its CSI and Homicide detectives responded to the scene and are actively investigating the incident.
