There are multiple areas where people routinely dump their unwanted items, according to people ABC13 spoke with that live in the area.
"Sheetrock, commodes, trash, wood, there used to be tires but not anymore tires. Well, there's one tire somebody dumped over there and just all kinds of trash," Alice Stubbs said.
Stubbs said she has lived in the neighborhood for 56 years and values the community.
ABC13 checked out multiple sites that viewers flagged as areas where dumping occurs.
When the crew arrived, there were mattresses, diaper boxes, wood and other unwanted items dumped on the street in multiple areas.
After reaching out to the City of Houston about the trash sites, crews picked up trash dumped on the street in the Rosewood neighborhood.
"Solid Waste crews are in the Rosewood area today and will clear illegal dumping at Crofton & Teesdale Dr. and Levering & Shreveport. We will continue to monitor the area for illegal dumping," City of Houston's Chief of Solid Waste Officer, Larius Hassen, said in a statement to ABC13.
In the statement, the city is urging residents to report illegal dumping to the Houston Police Department non-emergency line at (713) 884 3131 or through Crime Stoppers (713 222 TIPS).
They are also reminding people that when it is safe to do so, photographs, vehicle descriptions, and precise location details can assist with their investigations and support enforcement and prosecution efforts.
