HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Charges have been filed against a teen suspect accused of opening fire at a Harris County Sheriff's Office deputy in west Harris County, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
On Thursday, Kyel Evans, 17, has been charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon involving family violence, according to authorities.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies were called to a violent domestic disturbance that escalated into gunfire at an HCSO deputy at an apartment complex in the 14900 block of Westpark Drive on Wednesday.
According to Sheriff Gonzalez, the deputy was not injured in Wednesday's shooting.
