HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Two adults and two children were found dead inside a home in the River Oaks area on Monday evening, according to the Houston Police Department.
HPD said officers responded to a welfare check at about 5:26 p.m. in the 2100 block of Kingston Street. Police say a babysitter alerted officers after becoming concerned that she hadn't heard from the family. Upon arrival, HPD said officers first entered the home.
Police said that the two adults and the two children are all family members. Detectives believe that the incident is a murder suicide, HPD said.
The family's identities have not yet been released, but authorities said the woman was 39, and the kids were an 8-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy. The suspect was said to be 52 years old.
"Evidence on scene indicated the incident was a murder-suicide in which the male shot the three victims and then shot himself," HPD said.
