HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities have arrested a woman who was caught on camera stealing valuables from a mausoleum at a cemetery in early June with a toddler with her.

The Conroe woman, identified as 37-year-old Renee Amber Fennel, was taken into custody on Wednesday after Harris County Precinct 5 Constable Terry Allbritton's Office deputies conducted a thorough investigation.

Fennel was captured on surveillance camera on June 6, walking into the Memorial Oaks Cemetery, with a child wandering behind her. She was seen in the mausoleum, opening glass cremation niches, using tools to open the glass casings, and taking what was inside.

After an investigation, Pct. 5 deputies said jewelry, gold bars, and rings were missing. A visitor also told deputies that back in early May, they noticed some items from a display case were missing, but it is unclear if the scenes are connected. Officials have yet to determine how Fennel gained access to the mausoleum.

Fennel's daughter, who was also seen on camera, was turned over to a family member, Pct. 5 said.

Pct. 5 said this is not Fennel's first run-in with police. Officials said she has a lengthy criminal history in Harris County for forgery, theft, possession of a controlled substance, a DWI, and assault.

Officials said she has been transferred into Montgomery County Sheriff's Office custody for questioning over alleged crimes in that jurisdiction.
