PHOTOS: Olympic swimmer Simone Manuel lands at Bush Intercontinental Airport
Manuel's plane arrived at Bush Intercontinental Airport around 5:25am today, where she was greeted by city leaders and jubilant fans who were inspired by her incredible showing in Brazil.

The 20-year-old swimmer brought home two gold medals for the women's 100-meter freestyle and the 4x100-meter medley relay. She also earned two silver medals for the women's 50-meter freestyle and 4x100-meter freestyle relay.

Manuel admitted to those in attendance that two of those medals were inside socks in her baggage because she only received two holders so far.
Simone Manuel to return to Houston
The Olympian says she had plans already upon arrival to Houston: to get some Shipley's donuts.
The drum line from her high school alma mater, Stephen F. Austin High School in Fort Bend County, helped usher in Manuel's homecoming ceremony.
Local youth swim teams and cheerleaders also made a joyful noise as Manuel stepped into the terminal, many of them certainly looking up to her after representing the United States.
