On Friday, 23-year-old Laura Nicholson was charged with two counts of injury to a child, according to HCSO. Nicholson has been booked into the Lee County Jail in Florida, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies said that the incident happened on Feb. 11 in the 21000 block of Creek Edge Court, where two sisters, a 2-year-old and a 3-year-old, were reportedly found in pool.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said that further investigation determined that both children had cocaine in their systems at the time of their deaths.
