Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said at about 10 a.m., a task force arrived at the home located in the 24000 block of Sunview Valley near Cypresswood.
In an attempt to make a felony arrest, the suspect, Bartley Doyle, refused to comply, prompting a four-hour standoff.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office warned the community about the continued SWAT presence on X, formerly known as Twitter, at about 1 p.m.
"I walked outside, and I saw all the cop cars, and I peeked out, and I saw all the big guns drawn. So, I turned around and walked back into the house. I heard them trying to get someone to come out," Genese Daniels, who lives in the neighborhood, told ABC13.
A viewer sent Eyewitness News a video of Doyle coming out with his hands up.
In an update at about 2 p.m., the sheriff's office confirmed that Doyle eventually walked outside of the home and was arrested.
Lt. Bryan Buccini said Doyle received a minor injury when he fell through the ceiling while trying to hide.
The sheriff's office told Eyewitness News that a family member and a child were inside the home during the standoff but were not in danger.
Authorities said Doyle was wanted on several felony warrants from Harris, Montgomery, and Galveston counties.
The warrants include three felony theft, one aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, and one felony evading arrest.
