HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities say a man is dead after a crash led to shots being fired in the southwest Houston area on Thursday.

The Houston Police Department said officers responded to a suspected road rage shooting at 6203 West Fuqua at S. Sam Houston Parkway at 9:40 a.m.

According to police, a red truck and a white truck were involved in a crash after turning onto the feeder road on the beltway.

HPD said the red truck hit the white truck, causing it to spin around. That's when police said a man in the white truck got out and shot at least twice, killing the other man inside the red truck.

Video obtained by Eyewitness News showed the shooting unfold after the crash.

The alleged shooter in the white truck called police and was taken to the hospital for now, but will be facing charges, police added.

It's unclear if the two men knew each other before the incident, but an investigation is ongoing.
