According to officials, the incident happened on Richmond and Roseland at about 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Police said the victim was a homeless woman who was in her 30s or 40s.
"She was in the street and was unfortunately run over by this driver," HPD Lt. A. Khan said.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to Khan.
In addition to the accident, Khan said there was also a disturbance at the scene.
"She did have a friend on scene with her who was the one who caused the disturbance," she said. "He saw it happen and was very upset about it."
There is no information on the vehicle the female suspect was driving.
