Investigation underway after 31-year-old man riding bike killed in hit-and-run, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A driver is wanted after police say a man riding a bike was hit and killed early Friday morning.

The Houston Police Department said the hit-and-run happened in the 2000 block of Quitman Street at about 2:15 a.m.

According to police, the 31-year-old victim was riding a bike on Quitman when he was hit by a driver who did not stop to render aid.

HPD said the driver took off, and the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle or suspect description is unknown at this time, police said.
