HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Everything is bigger and better in Texas, and the Bayou City did not disappoint when it came to celebrating America's 250th birthday.
According to Houston officials, Freedom Over Texas drew in a record-breaking crowd to Eleanor Tinsley Park, where attendees were serenaded by classics from Collective Soul and Los Lonely Boys. Then Keith Urban electrified the stage as the headliner for the night.
The cherry on top was the stunning fireworks show that, as Mayor John Whitmire put it, was the biggest and longest in the Lone Star State.
Whitmire thanked Houstonians for a successful July 4 holiday in Space City U.S.A., which also included a FIFA World Cup game and celebrations scattered across the city.
