Police said it happened just before midnight on North Freeway in the Greenspoint area.

Officers said they learned about the incident when the victim flagged down police on West Tidwell Road near Yale Street.

According to investigators, the shooter bumped the back of the victim's pickup truck and then pulled out a gun and shot into the victim's truck.

Investigators said the 49-year-old victim was driving with a 24-year-old woman and a 14-month-old baby in the car.

Authorities said no one was shot, but the victim who was driving sustained minor injuries from glass breaking.

HPD said the incident could have ended much differently.
