The Harris County Sheriff's Office said it responded to the barricaded suspect in the 6000 block of Downwood Forest, near Antoine Drive and W. Mount Houston Road at about 5:30 a.m.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the suspect took off during a traffic stop and got on the roof of a home, refusing to come down.
In an update, Pct. 1 said the suspect was on an electric bike and ran a stop sign before fleeing from deputies as they tried to approach him. HCSO said deputies deployed a taser on the suspect before he ran off.
SkyEye13 flew over the active scene and spotted a man sitting on a home's roof. At some point, the man can be seen going down a ladder after speaking with officers.
Deputies said it was not the man's home and that they were able to talk the suspect down peacefully.
HCSO said the suspect faces an evading arrest charge.
