HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Four suspects are on the run after a shooting left a man hospitalized on Houston's southside Monday night, according to the Houston Police Department.

According to HPD, officers responded to the shooting regarding a possible robbery on Corder near Tierwester at 7:48 p.m.

Police say two brothers were at a park when they met the four suspects. After the suspects exited their vehicle, they opened fire into the victim's vehicle, which crashed into a ditch, HPD said.

Authorities say the victim was a 19-year-old man, who was shot inside a Honda Civic and taken to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Police say his 15-year-old brother was a passenger inside the vehicle, but wasn't hit by the gunfire. Law enforcement says he provided statements to police after the shooting.

Police say the four suspects ran away after the shooting and are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s. According to HPD, one of the suspects had a handgun.
