SPRING, Texas (KTRK) -- Deputies said three masked suspects forced themselves inside a home and assaulted an elderly man around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Harris County Constable Pct. 4 told ABC13 the suspects are teenagers, and one of them is still at large.

Pct. 4 Assistant Chief Danny Garza said it happened on the 8300 block of Timbernook Court in Spring.

Garza said an elderly woman was in her living room when three masked suspects broke into the home through a window.

"She was alarmed, and she dialed 911," Garza said.

At that point, Garza said the woman's husband, who was asleep upstairs, came to see what had happened.

"While he was running downstairs, he hit the panic alarm button, and when he got downstairs, he encountered three individuals (who) were inside his home and masked," Garza said.

Garza said the man was hit in the head and face several times with a flashlight. After that, he said the suspects ran out of the home.

"The getaway driver, who was waiting for them, had become startled due to the commotion and left them," Garza said.

But that getaway driver, who Garza said was also a teenager, did not get away.

"Our units quickly responded within minutes, and we were able to stop the getaway driver and detain the driver," Garza said.

That's when the foot chase began, as seen in drone video captured by Pct. 4.

"Our deputies were able to establish a perimeter pretty quickly. We had canines already on duty," Garza said. "They responded. We were able to get drones in the air."

Garza said they captured a 17-year-old and another juvenile, but the third suspect has not been caught.

Garza said the teenager at large is from the Spring area, and the others are from the southside of Houston.

Garza said they have a criminal history but have no record of burglaries. He said the two who ran away on foot face misdemeanor evading charges, but he expects an additional charge of burglary as well.

Now, investigators are trying to piece together how they all knew each other and why they chose this home.

"What exactly led them to this address? Was it a specific target? Was it something that they were just kind of hoping that that was empty?" Garza asked.

Garza said, thankfully, the injured man is expected to be okay.
