Cameron Clark Jackson, 27, has been charged with murder after the shooting took place just after 3 p.m. on August 10.
HPD says officers responded to a home in the 1200 block of Ashford Meadow Drive and found the victim, identified as Za'Wight Johnson, suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to the hospital, where he later died, officials said.
Officers said they found evidence of a shooting in the townhome complex's parking lot and learned that the teen was sitting in the living room when the shooting happened.
On Thursday, officials said the HPD Westside Patrol Divisional Gang Unit found and arrested the 27-year-old suspect and booked him without incident.
It is unclear how the shooting happened or what led up to it.
According to court records, Jackson's bail was set at $500,000 on Friday.
