Records show that 20-year-old Joseph Raines is accused of a drive-by shooting outside of a southeast Houston nightclub, Bugs Bar, in July of last year.
Witnesses who spoke with police that night said there was a black sedan that pulled up outside the bar and began shooting several times into the crowd standing outside. The suspect vehicle then took off down Dixie Road.

Among the injured were a 21-year-old woman, Destini Butler, and the bar's owner and well-known barber, identified by family as 48-year-old Paul "Junebug" Stevenson. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD said several others who were shot included eight males, ranging in age from 17 to 52, and seven females, ranging from 14 to 21. They were all expected to be OK.
Officials confirmed that in February 2026, a co-conspirator, identified as Curvis Lenton, was arrested.
Raines appeared in court on Tuesday, officials said.
