13 Alert Traffic: Hazmat spill shuts down three NB lanes on Gulf Freeway at South Loop, TxDOT says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A hazmat spill on the Gulf Freeway has closed multiple northbound lanes near IH-610 South Loop on Tuesday afternoon, according to TxDOT.

Houston TranStar reported that the incident involved one vehicle at about 1:20 p.m. TranStar also reported that the three left northbound lanes were shut down due to the spill.

TxDOT said that its crews responded to the scene, adding that the cleanup is expected to take multiple hours. Officials advised motorists to seek alternate routes..
