The Harris County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a disturbance at 6:20 p.m. on 719 Sheldon Road on Friday.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, deputies received various call ranging from someone breaking into vehicles, and breaking windows at different apartment units.
Upon arrival, deputies say that they located a man, who was carrying a sharp object, was not cooperating with law enforcement after verbal commands and ran.
At some point, law enforcement believes that the man began moving toward the deputies, which led to both deputies discharging their weapons.
EMS arrived at the scene and began performing life-saving measures on the man. Authorities say that the man was transported to a hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
There are no reported injuries to the two deputies in the incident. Officials said there was no threat to the community.
An investigation is ongoing.
