All 5 occupants of pickup truck thrown from vehicle along North Fwy

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Five people in a pickup were ejected from the vehicle when it rolled over along the North Freeway, killing two late Sunday night.

Authorities say the crash happened on the southbound feeder road to the freeway between Aldine Bender and West Road.

According to investigators, the pickup attempted to cross four lanes of the North Freeway to take the West Road exit. The act led to the rollover.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said speed and an unsafe lane change appeared to be contributing factors to the crash.

Three other occupants survived and are in critical condition.
