Houston's first babies of 2021 were welcomed into the world not long after the stroke of midnight.

Memorial Hermann Health System's first baby of the year was born at 12:07 a.m. at the Texas Medical Center. Hudson Ryder Galvez weighed in at 7 pounds, 12 ounces and is 21.5 inches long.
The hospital reports that mom and dad were doing well.
Nearby at The Woman's Hospital of Texas, Baby Maddox entered the world at 1:18 a.m. Friday, weighing 7 pounds, 9 ounces. Maddox was given a special cap which reads, "HOPE 2021." Mom and Maddox are doing well, according to the hospital.

The Texas Children's Pavilion for Women in the Medical Center announced the first baby at their hospital was born at 12:36 a.m. to parents Jennifer Cravins and Tim Taylor. Baby Mav Bryant Taylor weighed 7 lbs. 12 oz. and was 20 inches long at birth.
