At about 3 p.m., Childress' body was found with a life vest with no other signs of trauma. Authorities say his driver's license was on his person which matched the identity of the same man reported missing earlier Tuesday morning.

"Mr. Childress was an experienced boat handler and fisherman who obviously was unable to find safe harbor during yesterday's storm. Prayers to him, his family, and friends for this tragic loss, may he Rest In Peace," said Sheriff Brian Hawthorne.
An autopsy has been ordered by the Galveston County Medical Examiners office.
According to the Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston release, Childress didn't return home after leaving to fish on Monday.
His wife reportedly called watchstanders around 4:20 p.m.
He was believed to be fishing in the Galveston Bay in a 16-foot green aluminum boat with a Bimini top.
In an update on Tuesday afternoon, officials said the man's boat was found capsized about half a mile southeast of Smith Point. Crews were still searching for the man.
