HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two judges increase the bond to more than a million dollars for a man accused of threatening a deacon and pointing a gun at worshipers outside a Houston church.

Pastor John W. Horton of Greater Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church in the Fifth Ward said Keanu Randolph had attended the church for the past year.

Pastor Horton said it all started on Sunday morning before the service began. He said Randolph cursed at a reverend in the bathroom. Then he sat down in a pew and appeared to be sleeping.

"I shook him, woke him up, told him that he couldn't sleep. He didn't come here for that," Pastor Horton said. "He got all angry and started cursing."

Horton said his staff escorted Randolph out, but then Randolph pulled a loaded gun out of his bag in the church parking lot and pointed it at church members.

He also allegedly threatened one of the church deacons. Randolph reportedly told the deacon he would kill him, his 21-month-old daughter and rape his wife.

Once he left the church, a deacon followed him until police arrived.
"They found him and they found a gun and a butcher knife," Pastor Horton said.

If he is able to post the bond, Randolph must stay at least 1,000 feet from the church and wear an ankle monitor.

Horton is a retired security officer. He plans on training his staff to enhance their security.
