HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A drug deal gone wrong Tuesday afternoon ended with one man dead and another wounded in the hospital, HPD said.
Officers were called to the scene in the 300 block of Stafford Street at about 3:30 p.m. HPD said two men had shot at each other, and one was pronounced dead.

Chief Troy Finner said the scene stemmed from a drug deal gone bad in the parking lot of a business. At some point during the deal, both men fired at one another. One was pronounced dead at the scene. The second man was taken to a hospital.
The area where the shooting happened includes Barkers Landing, Fleetwood, Thornwood, and Darrel Tully Stadium, which is home to about 23,000 people. According to ABC13's Neighborhood Safety Tracker, this area has not seen any homicides in the last 12 months.
