16-year-old dead and 1 rider injured after SUV intentionally hit dirt bike in SW Houston, police say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A 16-year-old is dead, and another person was injured after police said a vehicle might have intentionally hit the dirt bike they were on in southwest Houston.

Officers were called at about 1:45 p.m., Tuesday to 1800 Airport Blvd., near Almeda, on reports of a dirt bike being hit by another vehicle.

At the scene, police found the two riders. Both riders were taken to the hospital, where the 16-year-old died, police said. The second rider suffered bone fractures but is expected to survive.

According to witnesses, there was some sort of interaction between the people on the dirt bike and the driver of the SUV moments before.



As of now, police are working on finding the vehicle that was only described as a dark-colored SUV. They are also talking to witnesses and looking at surveillance video.
