NEW YORK (KTRK) -- The Houston Astros streak ends after a tough loss against the New York Yankees.

The Astros lost 8-1 in game 3 of the ALCS. Houston still leads the series 2-1.

The Astros' road to the World Series goes through the hallowed grounds of Yankee Stadium, home of the 27-time world champs and some of the most rabid fans in baseball.

"They've been dying every pitch and it makes it a tough place to play for other teams, but also a great place to play. Kinda see why they are who they are," Astros outfielder George Springer said.

It's not just the Yankees and their fans. They are backed by legends.

During a tour of Monument Park today, Eyewitness News was able to see one of baseball's unique treasured: a one-of-a-kind touchstone of baseball history, home to Ruth, Gehrig, and many more.

"It's hard to explain. I know its special, but we're going to go out there and have some fun, and live it up," Astros pitcher Chris Devenski said.

The Astros have several legends in the making in their own right, and a rare opportunity in New York with a roster like no other.

"To get all of those guys in the same room at the same time doesn't always happen, and for us to have it now is special," Springer said.
