Power restoring in Houston area after cluster of storms pass through

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- CenterPoint Energy reported over 30,000 customers were without power as heavy thunderstorms moved throughout the Houston area.

Last reported at 6:14 p.m., there were 36,933 customers reported to have been experiencing power outages in their area, according to the live outage tracker.

As of 10:15 p.m. Thursday, the number updated to 7,450 and falling.

CenterPoint Energy says that crews are currently working to repair the outages.

The company is advising customers to keep phone lines open for people calling in about hazadaous conditions.
