HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The man accused of abandoning his 6-year-old son to visit an adult bookstore in Houston is due in court today.

Darnell Washington is facing felony charges of endangering a child.

The boy was found sitting inside a truck outside a tattoo parlor March 1.

Inside the tattoo parlor, employees kept watch over the boy until police and firefighters arrived.

CPS said the boy was taken into their custody initially and has been placed with other members of the family.
