Houston police said officers were dispatched to the 5500 block of Community Drive after the body of a man was found next to the railroad tracks.
Officers at the scene said it appeared the man was jumping on or off the train when he was run over.
Investigators believe the victim was likely homeless.
An investigation into exactly what happened is underway.
