Wrong-way crash injures 2 in NE Houston
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A driver headed the wrong way on a northeast Houston road Sunday morning crashed head-on into another vehicle, injuring two people, police said.
It happened around 2 a.m. in the 7700 block of East Little York at Wayside Drive.
The driver was headed eastbound in the westbound lanes of East Little York when the crash happened, according to Houston police.
It wasn't clear how long the driver was in the wrong lanes before the collision, and officers said they may have been intoxicated.
The conditions of the two people injured wasn't immediately known Sunday morning.
The crash was the latest in a trend in wrong-way crashes across the city in recent months.
An innocent woman died on April 7 in a wrong-way crash on the Westpark Tollway. The victim was Houston R&B singer Jaelyn Chapman. Four others were injured in the crash that was caused by an intoxicated driver, who was one of those hurt, according to Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office officials. The driver, identified as Bobby James Brown, 32, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the crash, authorities said.
