EL PASO, TX -- A woman in El Paso has been sentenced to 35 years in prison in the death of her 5-month-old son whose body was found two years ago buried in the New Mexico desert.

Court records show 22-year-old Jenna Farrey accepted a plea deal Wednesday that resulted in her pleading guilty to injury to a child.

Records show that Farrey and her husband, Jeffrey Farrey, a former soldier at Fort Bliss, have argued they found their son Jackson unresponsive and failed to seek medical care.

Jeffrey Farrey is charged with injury to a child by omission and is being held at the El Paso County jail on a $1.5 million bond. A trial is expected to be held in November.

His lawyer says he played no role in Jackson's death.
