Woman fatally hit by car while walking dogs in Montrose

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A woman and a dog both died when they were struck by a car while out walking in Montrose.

Houston police say the woman was walking two dogs when they were hit in the intersection of Mandell at Richmond Tuesday morning.

The driver did not yield, according to HPD, but did remain at the scene.

One of the dogs survived.

The woman's identity has not been released.
