HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Detectives say a man was fatally shot possibly during a robbery in southeast Houston.
Eyewitnesses say it started at a gas station and ended in the street in the 9400 block of Cullen.
Police are looking into accounts that the victim was robbed then ran across the street, where he was possibly struck by a car before he was shot.
As relatives arrived at the scene, some of them were so distraught they had to be taken to the hospital; one of them is the victim's mom.
"I jumped in my truck, ran up here and this is all I see, him laying out on the road, dead and covered up," said Ronald Ruben, the victim's grandfather. "I don't know what happened. Nobody's knows."
"He had his money in his hand. It don't make no sense; it's just sad man, it's sad," witness Micki Wright said.
Ruben says his grandson was 30 years old. His identity has not been released.
