HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Whataburger is putting the taste of Mexico on a bun.
The Texas chain will soon add a burger to its menu that's made of two beef patties, chorizo, poblano peppers, onions, two slices of Monterey Jack cheese and a new creamy chili sauce. It's aptly named the "Chorizo Burger."
"Mexican-style chorizo makes this burger unique with its deep red color, fresh blend of spices and bold, flavorful profile," Whataburger Vice President of Marketing and Innovation Rich Scheffler said. "The flavors on this burger blend nicely for a balanced but savory taste we think our customers will enjoy."
Whataburger also plans to bring back the Chorizo Taquito to the menu for its late-night and breakfast customers.
Whataburger hasn't said exactly when they'll have the new items on their menu, but says it should be soon.
