Weekend construction: Making up for lost time after flooding

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If you are driving to the Kingwood or Humble area from downtown Houston, watch for major delays around US-59 Eastex Northbound from between Crosstimbers and Laura Koppe.

Three lanes will be closed throughout the weekend from 9pm on Friday until 5am on Monday morning.

Two lanes will be open at all times during the closure (possibly using the shoulder lane), but you can also use the Hardy Toll Road.

The Gulf Freeway will also be closed Southbound from El Dorado to Bay Area Boulevard from 8pm Friday until 5am on Monday.

As a detour exit Bay Area Boulevard to the feeder or use Highway 3 or Highway 35 as an alternate route.

US-290 Construction that was cancelled last weekend (due to weather) has been pushed to this weekend.

All inbound lanes of the Northwest Freeway from Beltway 8 to Jones road will be blocked off from 9pm on Friday until 5am on Monday.

You can detour to the West Little York exit to use the feeder road. Additionally the ramps connecting 290 westbound to Beltway 8 west will also be closed during the same time period.

Traffic will be pushed to the feeder road.
