VIDEO: Winds whipping up in Surfside

SURFSIDE, TX (KTRK) -- The winds are building on Surfside Beach as Tropical Storm Bill begins to make landfall.

ABC-13 reporter Ted Oberg says many in the community do not seem worried about the storm, despite strong winds and whipping surf. Many of the beach homes do have water under their base, but it does not appear that the piers that hold them up are in any danger.
