ONE MINUTE WEATHER: Steamy Tuesday, more rain for the weekend

A big surge in tropical moisture will increase the threat for daily downpours and thunderstorms Friday through the weekend.

Prepare for another steam bath today. High temperatures will again climb into the mid 90s with heat index values peaking between 100-106, just below heat advisory criteria.

Two more reasons to stay inside this afternoon are poor air quality and high allergens. Ragweed, elm tree, grass, and mold spore counts are all high, plus there's an ozone pollution watch in effect.

Rain chances will remain low through Thursday, but a big surge in tropical moisture will increase the threat for daily downpours and thunderstorms Friday through the weekend. Some of this moisture is from the remnants of Isaac. The National Hurricane Center says the remnant circulation now has a 0% chance of redeveloping.
